Why Are Stoats And Possums Are Pests

 There biggest and baddest pest is Stoats and Possums.They work as a team. Stoats eat the  little harmless egg and chicks. The Possums well are  more than that and they are fast tree climbers.They just don't eat the eggs and chicks they eat the adult kiwis as well. Possums and Stoats are the biggest and baddest pest to kiwis.

We used PEEL to do our pest paragraphs.Well I can tell you what PEEL stands for. The P stands for Point.  The E stands for elaborate and the other e stands for example. The l stands for link. This way helped me do my writing way more easily. I like this way I will use this way more      

My slide about Kakapo

Last week my teacher needed us to show our learning about the bush and we had been learning about the native animals and birds,bugs in the bush.  We made a structured over view to record and organises our information. Then my teacher made group slides 6 boxes for each of us then we get to write about different things in each box like about the diet,habitat,other info,appearance,threats. when we finished we got to make it beautiful.

 We got to pick mine was a Kakapo. Why did I pick Kakapo well they are very fascinating bird that live in the bush. Did you know that Kakapo is nocturnal and I think it is really cool that there eyes glow in the dark .They do eat a lot of thing I think that is why they are the heaviest bird in the bush. I found lots about appearance and other info. My teacher put Hapara to help us with our learning and we read different books to help us.

What Good Are Wings Without The Courage To Fly?

On Last Friday it was Anti bullying day. We all have to were pink let me tell you why. It so that people that cant stand up for them self so we all support them.So we all  STAND UP SPEAK OUT to bully's.That is why we all wear pink.

 later in my class my teacher said we are making pink feathers we all got 4 each per classmate. There were  different shaded of pink that we painted on our feathers then my teacher cut them all glued them on brown paper. All of the feathers made pink angle wings and on top it said What good are wings without the courage to fly? 

Let me tell you what I think it means to me. I think it is pink because we need to stand up to those mean bully's. If you have a talent share it with others don't be shy spread your talented wings and fly with courage don't let other people stop you and tell you what to do. It also think it means that show them that you can't break me down because I am me and me is special in all ways of the world.

why do we need to stand up to bully's. I think so that the world is a better place if we all do that so STAND UP SPEAK OUT.

 

My amazing pohutukawa art

  Our class did pohutukawa art. In Inquiry  we are learning the native forest of New Zealand.

  There were some photos  of pohutukawas that we had to draw. First we did a draft. We needed to draw the branches not to thick not to thin just right. Our leaves had to be good not to small not to big. The flowers were the hard bit not to long not to short the right length. When we finished we got to do it on real paper. Our pencil out line had to be light and soft then we finished  we had to do hard and dark with

black crayon. With the white it was a highlight when we put the dye it will stand out more parts. 

We got to dye it first was the leaves and branches they had green and brown we had to make different colour greens after they dried the flowers. They had to be red only one colour. When the flowers dried we did the back ground  blue and purple it was hard not to get it on the branches and leaves and flowers.

I fell proud of this because I worked really  hard  on this art work. The flowers are the right size. The leaves are different shape and the branches are right size. The most thing that I love about it that it is divine from any one else in my class.The hard part was that to make the leaves the right size and shape. Also the branches not to thin not to thick. I did a lot of drawing the right size and shape.
